A Bit of Background

So what's up with Colorjive? A bit of background...

As a color design consultency we began dabbling with digital color visualisation in the mid-ninetees. Pretty soon we also started experimenting with the emerging internet. This gave us a headstart.
Already at that time I envisioned online color visualization. While web applications were still science fiction, we choose a new technology called Java as our development platform because it seemed to be headed in the right direction. Java never fully fullfilled our dreams, but when Adobe Flex came along it appeared that the technology finally caught up with our vision.
During the last 10 years the design consultancy turned into a software development firm. We undertook many a software project, all somehow involving color. Some projects were too far ahead of their time, others were quite successfull. One recent successfull project is a Flash web application deployed in the Netherlands. It enables people to upload photos of their own home and change the paint colors. We finally arrived at the vision I had 15 years ago. The app was released almost a year ago. We learned. By now we think we can do better than we did in the Netherlands. By now we think we, as well as the rest of the world, are ready for Colorjive. It will be simple, powerfull and will surf on the waves of the social networks.

Keep tuned...
